“Help! Where do I start when redesigning a school for today's learners?” Opening new schools is something many districts and school leaders face and the task is daunting when thinking about all the different elements from facilities to content. We think of school support as an ongoing, continuous improvement process flexible enough to address the specific problems of practice affecting each school team. We have designed new systems, support and governance models to sustain new school designs, promoting flexibility and autonomy while still maintaining consistency and high expectations. In this interactive session you will hear different perspectives of how we are changing the way school looks centered around operations, culture, instruction and systems. You will learn tips and tricks of opening a new school along with how we overcame the dreaded “at my old school” phrase.
