Theater for EVERY Classroom

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Bring the magic of theatre into your classroom by embracing your teacher persona and taking ownership of your stage (classroom) and show (lesson plans)!
In this session, attendees will see how educators can break down lessons and units utilizing the questions directors and designers use when preparing a staged production, and build up engaging and unique educational experiences for scholars through implementing theatrical elements of a stage production.
Studies have shown that integrated theatre arts programming makes a significant impact on young scholars by improving their literacy and math skills, while increasing opportunities for students to develop stronger connections with their peers, closing the social-emotional learning gap caused by the global shutdown.
This process encourages educators to acknowledge the multitude of similarities between a teacher and their classroom and a performer and a stage. This practice can be used by teachers of any grade level in all content areas.
